Writing from the Heart

Poetry by the Sea

Third Annual Poetry-by-the-Sea Writing Retreat

July 25 – July 28, 2019

Please join Georgia Heard & Rebecca Kai Dotlich
for our Third Annual Poetry-by-the-Sea Writing Retreat
at the beautiful Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa in Jupiter, Florida

We believe that getting away from our daily to-do lists, connecting to the natural world and reconnecting with ourselves is central to the creative process. We chose this beautiful setting on one of the most scenic beaches in South Florida because this is where our creative spirit can feel free to play. The focus of the retreat will be writing poetry from the heart, tapping into our creativity, crafting poetry from what we see and experience. Whether you call yourself a writer or not, this is a time to give yourself permission to experience the transformational power of writing in a nurturing environment. At previous years’ poetry-by-the-sea retreats we found that in the short two-and-a half days together poets became kindred spirits, and no doubt this year will be the same.

Your three-day poetry writing retreat will look like this:
Fly in on Thursday, July 25th to share an early evening cheese and wine reception starting at 5 pm where you’ll meet fellow poets, and Georgia and Rebecca will share a brief summary of our days together. Then enjoy a two-and-a-half day retreat of writing workshop, writing on your own, sharing words, walking on the beach, and being a part of a warm and inviting community of like-minded writers. Our retreat will end Sunday, July 28th around noon after our celebratory reading after which you can catch a late afternoon/early evening flight home.
