Join us at The Poet’s Studio for Critique Corner: A Summer Poetry Pop-Up Workshop! Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced poet, this workshop offers valuable feedback to enhance your revision skills and support you in honing your craft. Led by celebrated poets Georgia Heard and Rebecca Kai Dotlich, this relaxed and supportive one-morning workshop provides a space for you to share your work and receive constructive criticism.
In this workshop, you will receive detailed, one-on-one feedback on two poems of your choice. Share the poems that you feel need improvement but unsure of how to proceed, and benefit from another set of eyes and ears. Prior to the workshop, you will receive written comments on your first poem, allowing for deeper reflection. During the workshop, we will explore your second poem together with the group, providing feedback and discussing craft elements tailored specifically to your poem. We will delve into aspects such as imagery, clarity, line breaks, stanza structure, beginnings and endings, and the careful selection of words.
This is an excellent opportunity to receive personalized and constructive feedback while joining a vibrant community of poets. Please note that to ensure a thorough reading and useful feedback, poems should be no longer than 25 lines. Hurry and secure your spot as this workshop is limited to 12 poets.
