Make Your Own Poetry Comics with Grant Snider (Early Bird Sale!)
A workshop with Georgia Heard + Grant Snider
Spots fill up fast! Register today. Early Bird rate valid until August 31.
Date: Monday, October 6, 2025
Time: 7:00 - 8:30 pm (ET) on Zoom
Bring your pencils, paper, and poetic curiosity for a one-of-a-kind night with the amazing Grant Snider, creator of Poetry Comics—a USA Today bestseller and one of the most talked-about books in every kidlit circle I know.
What’s a poetry comic? Think: graphic illustrations paired with short, powerful poems—sometimes like haiku, sometimes like little meditations on how to see the world differently. Grant’s work is playful, wise, and deeply creative—and in this workshop, he’ll guide us through the process of making our own!
For many of us, getting our text-only picture books published can be a challenge—some publishers are especially looking for author/illustrators. This workshop is a chance to explore whether you might be able to illustrate your own poems and add another layer of possibility to your publishing journey.
This workshop is for:
Writers curious about blending image and text—maybe even turning your own poems into graphic stories
Teachers looking for fresh, fun ways to bring poetry and visual storytelling into the classroom
Anyone who loves words, pictures, and the inspiration when they come together
No artistic background required—just a willingness to doodle, experiment, and explore.
